Tally Butler Privacy Policy

Tally Butler is a personal bookkeeping application that helps you record income, expenses, recurring transactions, reminders, currency conversions, and financial insights.
Information stored in the app
Tally Butler may store information that you enter into the app, including transaction amounts, dates, currencies, categories, sub-categories, profiles, notes, recurring transaction settings, and reminder settings.
This information is stored locally on your device unless you enable iCloud Sync.
iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud Sync, your bookkeeping records are stored in your private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. Tally Butler does not operate its own financial database and does not have access to your private iCloud records.
iCloud data is handled according to Apple's privacy policies and your Apple Account settings.
Exchange rates
When automatic exchange-rate updates are enabled, Tally Butler sends the selected base currency to an exchange-rate service to retrieve current conversion rates. The app does not send your transaction history, account details, profile names, or personal notes to the exchange-rate service.
Exchange rates may be retrieved from third-party services, including ExchangeRate API and ExchangeRate.fun. Please review the applicable provider terms and privacy policies for more information.
Subscriptions and payments
Tally Butler offers a Monthly Pro subscription, an Annual Pro subscription, and a Lifetime Pro non-consumable purchase. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.
Tally Butler does not receive or store your payment card details. StoreKit is used to determine current entitlements and restore purchases across your devices.
The free version includes all core bookkeeping features and displays banner advertising. The Pro version provides an ad-free experience.
Notifications
Reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device. Reminder content is not sent to Tally Butler servers.
CSV import and export
CSV files are selected, created, and handled by you. Tally Butler does not upload your CSV files to a developer-operated server.
Analytics and advertising
Tally Butler uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display banner advertising in the free version. Pro users do not see ads.
Google Mobile Ads may process information required to provide, measure, secure, and personalize advertising as applicable, which may include information such as device identifiers, coarse location, advertising data, product or app interaction data, and diagnostics such as crash and performance information. This is not a complete list of all data that may be processed, and the specific information used may vary depending on the app configuration, the user's consent/privacy choices, and applicable law.
Tally Butler does not send users' bookkeeping records to Google AdMob for advertising or ad targeting. This includes transaction amounts, income, expenses, categories and subcategories, notes, profiles, accounts, financial history, recurring transaction details, and CSV or imported/exported content. Such information is not advertising data and is not used for ad targeting.
Tally Butler uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP), where applicable, to request or manage advertising/privacy choices required in certain regions. Advertising behavior may depend on the user's consent/privacy choices and applicable law.

Data retention and deletion
You can delete transactions, profiles, categories, and other records from within the app. You can also remove locally stored app data by deleting the app from your device.
If iCloud Sync is enabled, iCloud records are managed through your Apple Account and iCloud settings.
Children's privacy
Tally Butler is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
